SASTIC Launches Pilot Program to Build a Vision-Language Model for Aerial Robotics

SASTIC is proud to announce the launch of a pioneering pilot collaboration with the YerevaNN Scientific-Educational Foundation. This initiative marks the first step in SASTIC’s broader vision to transform Armenia into a global leader in advanced AI technologies.

Backed by SASTIC funding, the project focuses on the development of a foundational Vision-Language Model (VLM) tailored for aerial robotics.

The program will:

• Produce a prototype VLM capable of simulated aerial navigation.
• Generate high-quality research deliverables.
• Identify industry partners and commercialization routes for a potential Phase II.

The collaboration represents a strategic test of SASTIC’s funding and program management model, incorporating milestone-based oversight, knowledge transfer mechanisms, and industry engagement. Monthly progress reports and a final pilot evaluation will guide decisions on scaling the project into a full technology development platform.
