Strategic Collaboration with YerevaNN Scientific-Educational Foundation: Vision-Language Foundation Models for Aerial Robotics
As part of our mission to catalyze Armenia’s leadership in frontier technology, SASTIC has launched a pilot project with the YerevaNN Scientific-Educational Foundation focused on developing Vision-Language Foundation Models (VLMs) for Aerial Robotics.
This project is the inaugural effort under the SASTIC Technology Development Programs, designed to support high-impact, scalable technology initiatives that bridge foundational research and real-world applications.
Key Focus Areas:
- Development of a multispectral visual encoder and early-stage VLM prototype for drone-based navigation.
- Generation of publishable, high-quality research aligned with both academic standards and industry relevance.
- Delivery of technical documentation and a proof-of-concept system suitable for downstream integration.
- Early-stage industry outreach and assessment of commercialization pathways for Phase II.
This pilot is structured as a 6-month milestone-driven collaboration, with built-in flexibility to evolve into a multi-phase national technology platform. The initiative lays the groundwork for technology transfer, job creation, and the emergence of Armenia as a hub for AI-driven aerial robotics.
