AMADEE-24
AMADEE-24 is a Mars simulation in Armenia. It is the authentic test run for astronautical exploration of the Red Planet and is led by a dedicated Mission Support Center in Austria. A crew of six highly qualified analog astronauts will conduct experiments using spacesuit prototypes to prepare for future human and robotic Mars exploration missions.
The test site is in Ararat Province. It was chosen because of its geological and topographical similarity to Mars.
SASTIC’s support is directed to:
- Sustaining the AMADEE-24 Mars Analog Simulation Mission
- Developing a Space Exploration Laboratory
- Promoting Educational and Outreach Programs
- Facilitating International Collaboration.
